Danny Martin

Danny is a theologian with an ecological framework and a focus on Dialogue. He began this work as a Catholic priest in Kenya and continued to develop the approach as a Religious Advisor to the UN Environment Program. In this role, he helped create a process to engage the religions of the world in the environmental cause.

After completing his Ph.D. under the tutelage of Thomas Berry (a pioneer in the work of environment and theology), Danny founded a non-profit with the mission of developing an Earth Charter for the 1992 UN Earth Summit. Later he brought Dialogue to institutions such as the CDC, the American Heart Association, and others, including Jefferson Memorial Hospital where Mindfulness was added to the method. Mindfulness-Dialogue has been widely used by groups and organizations to assist in leadership development, team building, and cultural enhancement. Danny grew up in Northern Ireland and resides now in Cross River, NY.

Therapeutic Philosophy

We learn and heal most deeply through our wounds – mistakes, failures, losses – but only if we can see them in the context of an unfolding universe, appreciate the assumptions they trigger, and participate in the unfolding change and growth that this process generates
